Bulldog Grapplers Finish Regular Season on top

The Becker Bulldog wrestling team finished up its regular season last Friday by dominating the competition en route to a top finish at the Albany Purple Pride Invitational.

Becker’s 245 team points were far and above the competition, with the Hutchinson Tigers being the next closest team at 160 points.

Six Bulldog wrestlers won their respective weight classes, while another six placed in the top three spots.

Kaden Nicolas picked up the first title for Becker, as he pinned his opponent in the finals at 113 for his 31st individual win of the season. Becker made it three in a row as Landen Kujawa (pin at 120) and Drew May (decision at 126) both also won their weight classes.

Mason Doucette was the victor at 152 pounds, as he scored a fall in the finals for his 31st win overall on the season, while teammate Adam Jurek picked up his 26th win of the season with a decision victory to claim the title at 160.

Becker’s final champion came at 220 pounds, as Dylan Kolby took the top prize.

Other top finishers for the Bulldogs included Bennett Kujawa (second - 106), Ryan Boecker (third - 132), Ethan Anderson (thrid - 138), Owen Angell (third - 145), Tyson Ricker (second - 170), Dylan Weber (third - 182), Joe Goth (fifth - 195) and Bryce Kuschel (fourth - 285).
