It was a beautiful day at Pebble Creek Golf Course Wednesday morning for the 18- team Becker Bulldog Invitational.  

 

“The course was in great shape, thanks to Jason and his crew,” said Bulldog Head Coach Dan Olson.  “Troy and his staff did a great job helping me get everything ready as well.  All of the players and coaches were extremely pleased with the conditions and staff at Pebble Creek.”

 

Olson said the tepid temperatures and clear skies were a bit unusual for this spring season “as the weather has not been this nice since the first week of practice back in March.”

 

The Bulldogs had a respectable showing taking fifth place behind Cathedral, Monticello, Hutchinson and Mounds Park Academy.  

 

The home team was led by Michael Sogard, who shot a solid 79.  Alex Stanz was second with an 81, Jackson Fluck was third with an 83 and Zach  Stanz with an 83.  

 

Brandon Abrahamson and Caleb Foster both carded 87's for the other two scores.  

 

“While this was only our second meet of the season, there were some signs of what will come when they are hitting on all cylinders,” said Olson.  “Hopefully, we can iron out some of the wrinkles in our games.”

Meet medalist was Brock Bliese (73) from Mounds Park Academy.

 

Becker starts their Granite Ridge Conference play Monday at Foley followed by a Friday meet at Spring Brook Golf Course in Mora.
