FORWARD LUCAS DERTINGER nailed this three-pointer as the buzzer sounded at the end of the first half, making the deficit to Delano 14 points with one half remaining. The Bulldogs struggled in the second half, scoring just 13 points in the 88-50 loss to the Tigers.

Boys Go 1 1 Against Zimmerman, Delano

The Becker Bulldogs (3-4) boys basketball team went 1-1 this past week with a win over Zimmerman last Friday at home and a loss against Delano Thursday at home.
 
Tigers 88, Bulldogs 50
The boys hosted the Tigers from Delano Thursday night and were completely outplayed from the opening tipoff to the final buzzer.
 
For most of the first half, Delano held a 20-point lead and although the Bulldogs would go on a run or two, the Tigers would bite back with a couple easy layups.
 
Delano (6-0) was led by Calvin Wishart, who had 30 points. Austin Schneider kicked in 18 and Keegan O’Neill added 10.
 
Jack Conzemius topped all Bulldog scorers with 14. Lucas Dertinger tallied 12 and Hunter McCall 10 in the 33-point loss.
 
Becker fell behind 51-37 at the half, then managed just 13 points to Delano’s 37 in the final frame.
 
Becker scoring: Conzemius 14, Dertinger 12, McCalla 10, Justin Kringler 7, Dawson Thom 5, Brandon Gustafson 1 and CJ Howard 1.
 
Delano scoring: Wishart 30, Schneider 18, O’Neill 10, Dylan Gilmer 8, Derek Techam 7, Nick Cayler 7, Mitchell Kurtz 4, Chase Carlson 2 and Reno Bredahl 2.
 
Bulldogs 85, Thunder 76
The boys took on the Thunder from Zimmerman at home last Friday night and came away with a nine-point win.
 
Dertinger lit up the scoreboard for Becker with 27 points, leading all players from both teams. Conzemius had 19, McCalla 17 and Tyler Lindquist added 12.
 
The Thunder (3-3) were led by Thunder Heyer with 21, Chandler Wellman with 19 and Jake Pensinger with 11.
 
The Bulldogs opened up a 10-point lead by halftime (41-31), then held on in the second half to pull out the win.
 
Bulldog scoring: Dertinger 27, Conzemius 19, McCalla 17, Lindquist 12, Ryan Good 5, Dawson Thom 4 and Justin Kringler 1.
 
Thunder scoring: Heyer 21, Wellman 19, Pensinger 11, Brett Bauer 9, Dylan Olerich 5, Dylan Martin 5, Ian Carlin 2, Andrew thompson 2 and Isaac Fordahl 2.
 
Up Next
Becker travels to play in the Sauk Rapids-Rice Tournament Wednesday and Thursday where they will compete against Detroit Lakes (2-3) and Big Lake (5-0).
 
They return home Jan. 3 to host Dassel-Cokato (1-4) at 7:15 p.m.
