The Becker Bulldog boys basketball team fell to 0-2 on the young season with losses to St. Cloud Apollo and Big Lake.
St. Cloud Apollo 54, Becker 45
Becker hosted the Eagles Monday and held the lead after the first 18 minutes at 21-17. However, Apollo turned on the jets and scored 37 points in the second half to pull away with a road victory.
Hunter McCalla led all Bulldogs in scoring with 15 points. He was the only Becker player to score in double figures.
Apollo was led by three players who scored in double figures; Renell Edwards (10), Marquise Smith (11) and leading scorer Philip Dromgoole, Jr. with 16.

Big Lake 55, Becker 51
Becker fell behind early, yet clawed their way back into the contest and get within one point, before losing to the home team by four points in the waning seconds of an exciting matchup.
When CJ Howard made a basket for Becket to make the score 52-51 in favor of Big Lake, all the Bulldogs could do was commit fouls and hope the Hornets fail at the free throw line.
They didn’t.
Tanner Teige made one of two and Austin Miller converted both his free throws to seal the game over the Bulldogs.
Miller led the way with 15 points, coming on three field goals and nine-of-11 free throws. Big Lake also got 12 points from Zach Gesicki and seven points from Logan Nagorski.
Becker was led by Lucas Dertinger, who had 21 points. Jack Conzemius added 14.
The Bulldogs dropped to 0-2 on the year while the Hornets improved to 4-0.
