Boys Bb Team Drops 2

The Becker boys basketball team lost two games this week, dropping their season record to 2-7.
 
Albany 48, Becker 38
The Bulldogs traveled to Albany last Friday night and came home with a 10-point defeat at the hands of the Huskies.
 
Albany jumped out quickly in the first half, squelching Becker’s opportunities and running up the score to 29-17. The Bulldogs came out in the second half and played better, scoring 21 points to Albany’s 19 but the deficit was too large for the Bulldogs to overcome.
 
Albany’s Ethan Hylla led all scorers with 14 points. He also had two blocked shots, one steal and 12 rebounds.
 
Becker was led by Lucas Dertinger and Brandon Gustafson, who each had 10 points.
 
The Bulldogs finished the game with five fastbreak points, five points off turnovers and zero second chance points. Albany had eight fast break points, five second chance points and scored 16 points off turnovers.
 
Becker scoring: Dertinger 10, Gustafson 10,  Justin Kringler 6, Cade Callahan 5, Sam Ricker 3, Caleb Quernemoen 3 and Nick  Mittelsteadt 1.
 
Albany scoring: Hylla 14, Adam Winkels 9, Deegan Findley 9, Isaac Nett 7, Jordan Schiffler 3, Deven Gertken 2, Emmett van der Hagen 2 and Carter Huberty 2.
 
Willmar 74, Becker 49
Becker got scoring from 10 different players Tuesday night at home, but Willmar was just quicker, more aggressive and shot better from the field than Becker in the 25-point drubbing.
 
Willmar capitalized on 18 steals and 39 rebounds while star Noah Slagter drained 35 points to capture the win.
 
Becker was led by Dertinger, who had 13 points.
 
Becker scoring: Dertinger 13, Quernemoen 12, Gustafson 6, Ricker 4, Travis Myers 4, Mittelsteadt 3, Kringler 2, Gabe Lindbom 2, Callahan 2 and Bryce Boser 1.
 
Willmar scoring: Slagter 35, Ryan Slette 15, Adam Roux 8, Ty Roelofs 8, Noah Getz 3, Cameron Murphy 3 and Connor Stevens 2.
