HEAD BASKETBALL COACH JOSH IHRKE presented his eight seniors with mini-basketballs earlier this week that had their names imprinted on them as gifts for their excellent contribution to the boys basketball team. The team, family and friends help celebrate their regular season and playoffs with a banquet at the high school Tuesday night.

Boys Bb Team Celebrates At Awards Banquet

The Becker Bulldog boys basketball celebrated their 2015-16 season last week by holding an awards banquet at the high school.
 
Head Coach Josh Ihrke and his coaching staff were on hand to make speeches, hand out awards and name captains.
 
2015-16 Awards
Matt Yoerg and Andrew Davalos were named All-Conference while Dillon Radunz, Jake Fobbe and Hunter McCalla were named All-Conference Honorable Mentions.
 
Best Teammate went to Clayton Gallus. Most Improved went to Jack Conzemius and most dedicated to McCalla. The defensive MVP was Davalos while Yoerg was named offensive MVP.
Yoerg also garnered the team MVP award.
 
Participation awards went to C.J. Howard, Gabe Dertinger, Evan Epperly, Lucas Dertinger, Justin Kringler, Sidney Boros, Caleb Quernemoen,, Jordan Ulbrich, Alex Stanz, Bryce Boser, Tyler Wasserbauer, Nick Radunz, Jacob Drury, Gage Gallus, Nate Croal, Ethan Holm, Kreeden Blomquist, Mitchell Emerson, Justice Bishir and Travis Myers.
 
Varsity letter winners were Davalos, Radunz, Yoerg, Fobbe, Clayton Gallus, Cody Gruenhagen, Caleb Foster, Dawson Thom, McCalla, Tyler Lindquist, Ryan Good, Conzemius and manager Olsen Pancoast.
 
Ihrke named Conzemius, Lindquist and McCalla as next year’s captains. Ihrke thanked the seniors (Yoerg, Fobbe, Foster, G. Dertinger, Davalos, Gruenhagen and C. Gallus) by giving them mini-basketballs with their names imprinted on them as gifts and highlighted their exceptional play throughout their basketball careers.
 
The Bulldogs finished the 2015-16 campaign with a 14-14 overall record going 9-5 in the Granite Ridge Conference. They started the season 5-0 in regular season play before losing their next six. They finished the regular season going  4-1 down the stretch including a 40-point blowout of Milaca Feb. 4.
 
In the Section 5AAA playoffs, they beat Big Lake, 45-42 Feb. 23, then lost to Monticello, 63-39 at SCSU Feb. 27 to end their season.
