Boys Basketball Team Beats Milaca, Loses To Rogers

The Becker Bulldog boys basketball team lost big to Rogers last weekend and had their Tuesday night game against Milaca moved to Thursday because of the recent snowstorm.

Becker 80, Milaca 40
The boys basketball team completely throttled the Milaca Wolves on home court Thursday night — beating them by 40.

Becker had four players reach double figures including leading scorer Hunter McCalla with 22. Matt Yoerg and Jack Conzemius both put up 12 points while Dillon Radunz netted 11.
Milaca was led by Matthew Fransen, who had 17.

The Bulldogs started fast and before the Wolves knew it, they had fallen into a hole too deep to crawl out of. Becker led the game at halftime, 49-23 and by the time the game was in its final few minutes, Coach Josh Ihrke emptied the bench to give some playing time to the non-starters.

Becker scoring: McCalla 22, Yoerg 12, Conzemius 12, Radunz 11, Cody Gruenhagen 8, Andrew Davalos 7, Caleb Foster 3, Ryan Good 2, Tyler Lindquist 2 and Dawson Thom 1.

Milaca scoring: Fransen 17, Dylan Ash 11, Jimmy Kragt 4, Mitchell Garber 3, Bryce Kohlgraf 2, Peyton Rathanburg 2 and Cade Sorensen 1.

Rogers 89, Becker 49
Steffan Musoke scored 28 points and Allen Wilson had 27 for the Royals as they beat the Becker Bulldogs in Becker last Saturday in a nonconference game.

Dillon Radunz had 12 and Cody Gruenhagen 11 for the Bulldogs who dropped to 9-11 on the year.

Musoke and Wilson combined 19 of their 28 shots for 55 combined points.

The Royals shut down the Bulldog offense, allowing only 49 points — 29 in the first half and just 20 in the second. Rogers returned to its full-court press, which the Bulldogs could not break easily and helped give Rogers an early lead they never conceded.

Becker shot just 40 percent from the floor, while Rogers shot 57 percent. They also hit 16-of-29 from the three-point line.

Becker scoring: Radunz 12, Gruenhagen 11, Matt Yoerg 9, Hunter McCalla 4, Andrew Davalos 4, Jack Conzemius 4, Ryan Good 3 and Gabe Dertinger 2.

Rogers scoring: Musoke 28, Wilson 27, Will Alexander 9, Drew Sagehorn 8, Matt Carik 4, Tanner Palm 4, Collin Franz 4, Mitch Spilles 3 and Brandon Vazquez 2.
