Saturday, the Becker Bulldog boys basketball team traveled to Halenbeck Hall on the campus of St. Cloud State University to play the Magic of Monticello in the Section 5AAA semifinals.
The Magic made the Bulldogs season disappear.
Magic 63, Bulldogs 39
Monticello’s sophomore stud Matt Todd scored 21 points while Hunter Rosenbaum tallied 14 in the Magic’s (17-10) 24-point trouncing of the Bulldogs (14-13) last Saturday morning.
Todd also added 11 rebounds, five assists and seven steals to Rosenbaum’s 12, three and two.
Monticello scoring: Todd 21, Rosenbaum 14, Tommy Blackstone 7, Rezi Useh 6, Trevor Bautch 6, Isaiah Wills 5, Clarke Andrews 2 and Carter Hangsleben 2.
No other information was made available to the Citizen-Tribune by press time.
The Magic went on to beat Rocori, 74-72 for the Section 5AAA title Thursday to advance to the state tournament.
