EIGHTH-GRADE PHENOM JULIA BENGTSON had a spectacular night Thursday as she helped guide her Bulldog team to a 13-point win over Little Falls. Bengtson had 15 points, six rebounds, two steals and two assist in the 55-41 win.

Bengtson Plays Big In Win Over Little Falls

In Becker’s only game on the calendar since the holiday break, the Lady bulldogs triumphed over Little Falls on the road Thursday by a score of 55-41.
 
The Bulldogs were led by Julia Bengtson, who tallied 15 points, six rebounds, two steals and two assists.
 
The Flyers were led by Sophia Sowada with 16 points, 11 rebounds and one blocked shot.
 
Becker soared to a good-sized lead right from the tip-off thanks to Bengtson’s solid play. By halftime, the visitors were holding a commanding, nine-point lead with 18 minutes to go.
 
Coach Dan Baird got a balanced scoring from the rest of the squad as eight of his athletes reached the scoresheet in the win. Two other Bulldogs, Madi Kerzman and Claire Thorn, matched Bengtson’s rebound total by getting six apiece while Renee Tripp led the Bulldogs with seven.
 
Becker went 20-56 from the floor and 11-20 from the free throw line. They also converted four three-pointers on 15 attempts. 
 
Becker finished with 36 rebounds to the Flyers’ 30.
 
Little Falls was 11-37 from the field and 16-27 from the charity stripe. They picked up three, three-pointers out of 10 attempts.
 
Becker scoring: Bengtson 15, Kerzman 8, McKenna Anderson 8, Thorn 7, Courtney Nuest 7, Tripp 4, Alayna Lindquist 3 and Cayla Paumen 3.
 
Little Falls scoring: Sowada 16, Kali Mammenga 8, Megan Kirk 4, Kacy Steinmetz 4, Melissa Geisenhoff 4, Terra Motschke 3 and Destiny Young 2.
