Becker wrestling participated in two tournaments this past week.
On Thurs., Dec. 19, Becker competed in a triangular against two teams, Kasson-Mantorville and Zumbrota-Mazeppa.
On Friday the 20th, Becker wrestled in the Minnesota Christmas Tournament.
Becker vs. Kasson-Mantorville
The first person to score for Becker was Bennett Kujawa (133-lb) as he bested his opponent in an 18-1 technical fall earning Becker five points.
His brother, Landen (145-lb) defeated his opponent in a 10-3 decision for three points.
Brayden Boots (152-lb) also earned Becker three points after he defeated his opponent in a 7-3 decision.
Kaden Nicolas (160-lb) and Owen Angell (172-lb) were the last wrestlers to score for Becker with Nicolas taking his opponent down in a 14-4 major decision scoring four points. Angell took his opponent down in a second round fall scoring six points.
Unfortunately, Kasson-Mantorville beat Becker, 37-21.
Becker vs. Zumbrota-Mazeppa
Bennett Kujawa (133-lb) started the scoring off for Becker with a 22-6 technical fall earning him five points. Tyler Hall (139-lb) would go on to beat his opponent in a 17-1 technical fall for five points. Landen Kujawa (145-lb) bested his competitor in a second round fall for six team points.
Brayden Boots (152-lb) took down his competitor in a 15-0 technical fall for five points. Kaden Nicolas (160-lb) had his match end in a forfeit earning him six points.
Angell (172-lb) beat his opponent in a first round fall and added six points to Becker’s final score, however, Zumbrota-Mazeppa ended up beating Becker, 37-33.
Minnesota Christmas Tournament
Tyler Hall (139-lb) won two out of the four matches during the tournament. Hall won one match in a 10-2 major decision and the other match in a 17-1 technical fall. Grady Muellner (160-lb) won two out of his four matches. Muellner won one match in a first round fall and the other match in a 16-9 decision.
Aiden Golley (215-lb) won three out of his five matches. One match consisted of a first round fall, the other match included a second round fall, and the last match ended in another second round fall. Jacob Williams (114-lb) won two out of his four matches. One match ended in a 17-0 technical fall and the other ended in a second round fall.
Landen Kujawa (145-lb) won five out of the seven matches he competed in. The first match ended with a first round fall and the rest of his matches ended in technical fall wins. Kaden Nicolas (152-lb) won five out of his six matches. Two of his matches ended in either a fall or a technical fall. The other three of his matches ended in a decision.
Nolan Jurek (127-lb) won one out of the three matches he competed in. Jurek bested one of his competitors in a 15-0 technical fall.
