The Becker American Legion baseball team defeated the Waite Park Silver Stars June 27 in Becker.
Becker tallied 10 hits, including a pair of doubles and a triple in the 7-5 win.
Zach Wenner started on the mound for Becker, giving up eight hits, three walks, five runs while recording three strikeouts. Andrew Kolbinger came on in relief and threw 2-2/3 innings, giving up one hit, four walks while notching one strikeout. Matt Krenz retired one batter to earn the save.
The home team was led on offense by Kreeden Bloomquist, who went 2-for-3 with a triple with three RBI’s. He also earned a walk, a stolen base and scored once. Dalton Fouquette went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and he scored a pair of runs.
Krenz went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. He was also hit by a pitch and scored one run. Noah Mohs went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a stolen base and one run scored. Andrew Kolbinger went 1-for-3 for an RBI and Wenner went 1-for-4 while scoring a run. Ryan Groskreutz went 1-for-3 with one run scored and Cam Fischer earned a walk.
The Silver Star’s starting pitcher was Reece Johnson, who threw 5-1/3 innings, giving up eight hits, three walks, six runs while tallying four strikeouts. Tanner Blommer threw 2/3’s of an inning in relief, giving up two hits, one run and recorded one strikeout.
The Silver Stars’ Noah Bissett went 3-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run. Tanner Blommer went 2-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and a run scored. Nick Gill went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Alex Dalbec went 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Sam Luepke had a sacrifice fly for an RBI while earning a walk. Logan Quinn went 1-for-3 with a walk while scoring twice. Thomas Otto earned a pair of walks and scored one run while Isaac Erickson earned a pair of walks.
