The Becker Inferno 14U Navy volleyball team had an impressive day on the court last weekend in the Mid-Winter Classic Tournament at Ogilvie and Onamia High Schools.
They walked away with the first place trophy in the Gold Division, going 6-0 in the process.
The tournament started with the Inferno beating Foley in two-of-three sets. They advanced to play Sauk Rapids, and emerged with a close victory, 26-24 and 25-22.
They went on to beat the Crusaders of St. Cloud Cathedral 25-23 and 25-18 and knocked out St Francis’ "Dig It" team 25-18 and 25-12.
The first game of the final match with Hartland Mille Lac’s Black team was a loss 25-9. However, the Inferno rallied and won the next two games, 25-19 and 15-13 for the championship.
The Inferno will be competing this weekend in the 26th Annual Presidents Day Tournament in Eagan.
The team’s season record is 13-3 and have won 25 of 32 sets. They are coached by Greg Lynch and the team consists of Lexi anderson, Bailey Vieau, Shelby Zoller, Lexi Dehmer, Jenna Mittelstaedt, Lindsay Fruth, Alyssa Gruenes, Jillian Olson, Breein Waytashek, Tina Gruber, Kya Nelson and Ali Hill.
