Becker girls soccer’s record sits at 8-6-2

After a long weekend of games, the Becker Bulldog girls’ soccer team increased their record to 8-6-2 while the team itself moved to sixth place in the Mississippi 8 Conference. 

Vs. Cathedral

The Bulldogs fought hard in their Sept. 17 game to end in a 1-1 tie against St. Cloud Cathedral. The only goal by the Bulldogs was scored by Adele Changamire. Becker’s goalie, Qolbe Olson, managed to protect the net with 14 saves. 

Vs. Zimmerman

The Bulldogs fell to Zimmerman 0-4 after putting up a good fight Sept. 19. 

Vs. Willmar

The Bulldogs pulled out a victory with an 8-2 win over the Cardinals of Willmar Sept. 21. 

The goal scorers of the night included Abby Atwood with four goals, Kali Schendzielos with three goals, and Andie Changamire with one. Assists were from Evelyn Seifert, Andie Changamire, Charlie Ebert, and Hailen Pettersen. 

Vs. Monticello

The Bulldogs kept the winning streak going when they played the Monticello Magic Sept. 24 and came home with a 2-1 victory. 

Abby Atwood and Kali Schendzielos were the two scorers, with assistance from Alyssa Kinney. 

This was the Bulldogs first-ever win against the Magic since the Becker girls soccer program started 18 years ago. 

Vs. Big Lake

The Bulldogs managed to shut out Big Lake with a 2-0 victory Sept. 26. 

The two goal scorers were Andie Changamire and Abby Atwood, assisted by Kali Schendzielos. Qolbe Olson was able to keep the Hornets from scoring with a recorded five saves.
