Winners were announced for Becker athletes who were named to the St. Cloud Times All-Area teams.
Boys Soccer
Qadry Fakhreddine, Becker, senior midfielder was named to the Times’ All-Area boys soccer team.
Fakhreddine was an all-Granite Ridge Conference pick. He was known for controlling the middle of the field for the Bulldogs.
“Almost all of our plays developed around or through him,” said Bulldogs Coach Alex Jurek.
Goalkeeper Hunter McCalla and defender Mason Makarall were named honorable mention.
Girls Soccer
Claire Voigt, Becker, sophomore midfielder was named to the Times’ All-Area girls soccer team.
Voigt was a Class A All-State second-team pick and an all-Granite Ridge Conference first-team pick. She led her team in scoring with 23 goals and eight assists. Voigt already has 29 career goals and 12 assists and helped lead her team to a 15-3 record and its first Granite Ridge Conference title.
Midfielder senior Heidi Voigt (Claire’s sister)and sophomore midfielder Madeline Corey were named honorable mention.
Boys Football
Senior defensive end/linebacker Jack Conzemius, was named to the Times’ All-Area boys football team.
At 6-3, 220-lbs., Conzemius is a first-team All-East Central District selection and a three-year starter for the Bulldogs. Conzemius was on the team when they won two state Class 4A championships. Conzemius was also a blocking back on offense and team captain.
“He played well for us the last three years,” Becker hall-of-fame head coach Dwight Lundeen said.
Honorable Mention
Junior running back Sidney Boros and junior wide receiver Lucas Dertinger — along with freshman quarterback Josh Fobbe — were given honorable mention honors.
Swimming/Diving
Sophomore diving phenom Emi Quill was named honorable mention for her outstanding season as a diver. Quill made state and came home with 15th place, becoming the first diver for Becker to achieve that accomplishment.
