Bandits Go 2 3 This Week

 
The Becker Bandits baseball team won two and lost three this past week.
 
Sartell 15, Becker 1
 
The Stone Poneys defeated their Sauk Valley League rivals, the Bandits a week ago Wednesday. The Poneys notched 16 hits, including one home run and seven doubles. 
 
The Bandits’ starting pitcher, Weston Shug, threw three innings, giving up nine hits, eight runs while tallying four strikeouts.  Cam Fischer threw 1/3 of an inning, giving up three hits,  two walks, five runs while earning one strikeout. Zach Wenner threw 1-2/3 innings in relief, giving up two hits, one run and notching two strikeouts. Dalton Fouquette threw the final inning, retiring the three batters he faced.
 
The Bandits’ offense was led by Ryan Sommerdorf, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Fouquette went 3-for-3. Zach Wenner went 1-for-3 while scoring a run and Connor Rolf went 1-for-1 with a walk.
 
Bandits 11, Buzzards 2
 
As part of the Freedom Days celebration, the Buzzards and Bandits got together to play a fun-filled exhibition game at the high school during the afternoon Saturday. The Bandits looked to have much more fun as they throttled the Buzzards by nine.
 
Jon Crowley was the starting pitcher for the Bandits and he delivered three good innings recording one strikeout and one walk while giving up four hits. Fouquette came on in relief and pitched two innings, tallying one K, one BOB and surrendering one hit. Andrew Kolbinger toed the rubber in the fifth, giving up one run and one walk. Matt Krenz closed things out with one strikeout, one walk while giving up two hits and one run.
 
Sommerdorf did most of the damage on offense, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and one run scored. Ryan Hess was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Fouquette was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. Krenz was 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and one run scored. Connor Rolf was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI and Kreeden Blomquist was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.
 
Big Lake 7, Becker 1
 
The Yellowjackets of Big Lake defeated the Bandits bu six runs Saturday afternoon. 
 
Backed by 13 hits, including a home run, a triple and a pair of doubles the crosstown rivals got the best of the Bandits. 
 
The Bandits’ starting pitcher was Matthew Moe, who threw 5-1/3 innings, giving up 11 hits,  one walk, and three runs while tallying four strikeouts. Fouquette threw 2-2/3 innings in relief, giving up two hits, four walks, four runswhile notching three strikeouts. 
 
Doubleheader
 
The Bandits took on Rogers and split a doubleheader last Sunday.
 
Red Devils 1, Bandits 0
 
The Red Devils defeated the Bandits in game one, backed by a pitching gem from Luke Selken.
 
Moe started on the mound for Becker, throwing a complete game while giving up just four hits, two walks, one run and earning six strikeouts. Fouquette went 1-for-3 and Connor Rolf went 1-for-2  while Matt Krenz earned a walk. 
 
Bandits 3, Red Devils 0
 
The Bandits (3-5) took game two against the Red Devils (5-3) under a pitching jewel by Weston Schug. 
 
Schug threw a complete game, giving up four hits, two walks while tallying 11 strikeouts. 
 
Schug was a beast at the plate too, as he went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a walk and he scored one run. Conner Rolf went 1-for-3 for an RBI, scoring one run and Conrad Goldade went 1-for-2, earning a walk and scoring once.
