PLAYERS FROM THE HISTORY of the Becker Bulldog girls basketball teams will be honored the weekend of Jan. 20-21 at Becker High School. Past players like Brianna Mastey, Nikki Anderson, Leah Senger, Lauren Veldman, Reyan Robinson and Jenna Morrell are being asked to attend the weekend festivities where the 2007 championship team will be honored Friday and the rest of the alumni athletes Saturday.

Alumni Sought From Yesteryear’s Teams And Championship

Alumni for the 2007 state championship Becker Lady Bulldog team are being sought to attend an upcoming game to be honored and recapture some bygone glory.
 
The alumni reunion is to be held Fri., Jan. 20 at the Bulldog game against Albany. Alumni will be honored at halftime and a scrimmage is planned to be played after the main contest between graduates and current players.
 
The next night, the current Bulldog basketball team will host Duluth East at 2:30 p.m. and all alumni from the history of the girls basketball program are being asked to attend. Again ,they will honor all past Lady Bulldog athletes at halftime of the afternoon game.
 
The 2007 team, consisting of the Mastey twins, Reyan Robinson, Alex Crapser, Amanda Kangas, Heather Fahsl, Kayla Gudmundson, Shelly Stemper, Jessie Althoff and Chelsea Lieser, among others, won the Class AAA state title at Target Center over DeLaSalle and was led by Head Coach Justin Hegna.
 
Hegna resigned in 2008 to head up Breakdown Sports publication. 
 
In the title game that year, the game went down to the final seconds before Reyan Robinson put up her little running jumper to seal the win 41-39.
 
Current Head Coach Dan Baird, coaches Scott Brake and Hegna and all former coaches and assistants ask people to spread the word to get as many alumni girls basketball players to the Jan. 20-21 weekend celebration.
