Johnson, Robert W. age 93, of Robbinsdale, passed away April 20. Preceded in death by parents, sister, Loretta Sykes, brothers, Don and Bruce Johnson and son-in-law, Jim Nevison. Survived by wife of 67 years, Mary Lue; sister-in-law, Virginia Johnson; daughters, Janis (Robert) Eastlund, Julie Nevison, Joan (Lance) Diggs; grandchildren Erika (Carlos) Garcia, Emily (Eric) McIntosh, Peter (Courtney) Eastlund, Carrie (Milton) Un, Lorie (Joel) Crandall, Brent and Julia Diggs and 14 great-grandchildren. Bob had a unique career spanning 65 years creating commercial sculpture for the Twin Cities area and beyond. Many of his creations have been well-known landmarks, such as the Ewald Bros. cow heads, the Becker Bulldog on the fieldhouse, the eagle at Northwestern University and the Octopus Car Wash sculptures. Funeral service was Monday April 25 at Brookdale Covenant Church, Brooklyn Center. Visitation was Sun. April 24 at Washburn-McReavy-Robbinsdale Chapel and also was prior to service at the church.
