Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Sat., March 25 at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Becker for Patrick Lee Makovec, age 75, who passed away peacefully at home from complications of Parkinsons. Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church in Becker. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker.
Patrick was born Sept. 19, 1941 in Medford, WI to Matthew & Elsie (Mundt) Makovec. He married Kathleen Rouiller on April 4, 1964 in Medford, WI. Patrick graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an MBA in Accounting. During his career, he headed up the leasing division at Gold’n Plump, St. Cloud, MN. Later in his career he became the CEO of Wireless Data Solution, Oceanside, CA until his retirement. Patrick was a member of Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Becker. He was a true outdoorsman. Patrick enjoyed the shooting sports, hunting, fishing and especially trout fishing. He was a voracious reader of all subjects and tested MENSA caliber.
Survivors include his wife of almost 53 years, Kathleen of Clear Lake; daughter, Shelley of Hanover, MN; and brothers, Richard (Patricia) of Neenah, WI, David (Mery) of Medford, WI and Mark (Susan) of Elk River, MN. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Elsie; and his beloved Springer Spaniel, Birdie.
