Patricia Ann Zwilling, age 78 of Big Lake, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 13. Visitation was Tuesday, May 17 at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church, Big Lake. Mass of Christian Burial was Wed/, May 18, Fr. Gene Doyle officiated. Interment was at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, Monticello.
Pat was born on May 12, 1938, in St. Nicholas, MN to Andrew and Theresa (Faber) Schmit. She was united in marriage to James Zwilling on July 13, 1957. Together they had six children. She worked next to her husband in the American Family Insurance business for several years. Pat always had a warm, inviting smile and generous hugs to give. She loved being with her family and friends. You could always find Pat cooking or watching sports. A caregiver at heart who opened her home to many, Pat was loved by all and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jim; children Mike, Bonnie Koste, Randy (Carrol), Terri (Bill) Miller, Tom, Kelli (Scott) Riebel; 14 grandchildren, Amy, Krista, Katie, Abbie, Max, Joel, Alyssa, Andy, Adam, Alex, Austin, Trenton, Mason and Reggie; six great grandchildren, Emma, Elle, Lauryn, Jack, Hailey, Maisy; four siblings, Joyce Fullerton, Dan Schmit, Dorine Kotilinek, Howie Schmit; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Theresa Schmit; brothers Harold and Robert; and sister Mary Lou Walz.
