Judy M. Marquette

Judy M. Marquette, age 60 of Annandale passed away on Monday, July 31 at her home. A gathering of family and friends celebrating her life will be from 3-6 p.m. Sun., Aug. 6, at the Clearwater Lions Community Park Pavilion at 1100 Co. Rd. 75, Clearwater. 
 
Judy was born in Sandstone, Minnesota to Harold and Ida Mary (Peterson) Newman. Judy was raised and attended school in Annandale, Minnesota. She worked as a waitress for Brigette’s for a number of years, was also a professional seamstress for Priscilla Mooseburger’s Originals and also worked for HTI and Wright Laser. Judy married Herbert Marquette on November 6, 1985 in St. Cloud. They lived in Clearwater until moving to Annandale in 1990.
 
Judy enjoyed sewing for family and close friends as well as baking and cooking. She loved to garden – raising vegetables and flowers that she generously shared with others. She was known as “The Bag Lady” at the Swappers Meet where she designed and created regulation size and weight corn toss bags. Judy was always helping family and friends but asked for nothing in return. 
Judy battled cancer for three years. She was “Mom” to many of her children’s friends. 
 
Judy is survived by her husband, Herbert; children, Wesley Newman of Watkins, Andrew Newman of Annandale, Philip Marquette of Annandale and Elizabeth Marquette of Annandale; grandchildren, Anthony Newman of Monticello and Krystalyn Newman of Watkins; siblings, Roger Newman of Annandale, Allen Newman of Clearwater, Richard (Cathy) Newman of Elk River, Leona (Phil) Rairigh of Bend, OR, Harry (Sherry) Newman of Buffalo and Linda Newman of Moorhead; sister-in-law, Pat Newman of Casper, WY; and many nieces and nephews. 
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pearl; and brothers, Gerald and David.
 
Judy will be missed by her family and many close friends.
