Laporte, MN
May 21, 1946 – February 22, 2022
Janice passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. She was born on May 21, 1946, in St. Paul, MN the daughter of Donavon and Norma (Lyte) Bump.
Janice grew up in St. Paul and graduated from St. Agnes Catholic School in the summer of 1964. She went to work for Fingerhut and married Dale in 1967. Since Dale was still active-duty Army, they moved to Texas for a little while before moving to Los Angeles, California. Janice took a job with Triple A Auto Club. She transferred her position to stay with the company when they moved back to St. Paul in 1970. They were there for a few years before moving to Kansas City, KS with their daughter Joy. Janice decided that it was more important to stay at home to raise Joy which she took pride in. Janice and Dale continued moving to various locations until retiring in Laporte on July 5, 2015. Janice loved being a grandma. She was very vital in raising her two grandchildren. Doing so brought her extremely close to each one of them. Janice enjoyed nature, watching hummingbirds at the feeder and spending time with her lap dog, Ruthie. She took time to watch her soaps and her two favorite game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Janice’s family would like to thank the Havenwood Care Center of Bemidji for taking such good care of her during her last year.
The family that Janice joins again are her parents; Donavon and Norma and one brother; Richard Bump.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her husband; Dale Bender of Laporte, daughter; Joy (Josh) Bender-Quayle of Bagley, sister; Diana (Allen) Edwins of Inger Grove Heights, two grandchildren; Michael and Gabriel of Bagley, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
