Howard L Norgaard was born June 23, 1931 to Carl and Gertrude (Larsen) Norgaard in Audubon, Iowa. Howard proudly served his country during the Korean War. Howard was married to Elizabeth Kelley on June 16, 1960 in Robbinsdale, MN. Howard and Elizabeth served as Missionaries in Africa for five years where their sons were born. He made a difference in the lives of children and staff as a teacher and principal both in Robbinsdale and Madelia School Districts.
After retirement Howard and Elizabeth moved to Becker to be near their grandchildren, who knew him as “Farfar”. True to his nature, Howard quickly signed up as a substitute teacher for the Becker school district. Howard was always reminding people of God’s love and was active in his church, teaching Sunday School and adult bible classes. He was tech savvy, loved fixing Apple computers, enjoyed photography, reading and music. Howard loved visiting with people and was sincerely interested in other people’s lives. Most of all, he was a genuine family man.
Howard is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Becker; son, Philip (Sandi) of Green, OH.; grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, and Nick Norgaard, Elijah and James Moon. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bruce; and daughter, Naomi Moon.
