Funeral Services were Thurs., Oct. 27 at South Santiago Lutheran Church, Clear Lake for Gregory “Gatzie” T. Schendzielos, 70, of Clear Lake who passed away on Saturday. Rev. Michael Pancoast officiated and burial was with full military honors at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Friends and relatives called on Wed., Oct. 26 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and also one hour prior to services at the church, Clear Lake, Thursday morning.

 

Gregory Thomas Schendzielos was born on December 18, 1945 in St. Cloud to Martin and Esther (Holter) Schendzielos. He served his country in the Vietnam War with the Army Corps of Engineers from 1967-1968 and was married to Dianne “Dee” Seydel on May 10, 1975. Greg was a small business owner, moving earth, buildings, excavation and building golf courses. He was a member of South Santiago Lutheran Church. Greg was very hardworking, funny and loved to travel. He was spontaneous, refused to conform and embraced adventure. Greg loved being with his family.

 

Survivors include his loving wife Dee of Clear Lake; daughters, Gretchen (Dan) Huwe of Clear Lake, Samantha of Minneapolis and Dede Schendzielos of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Piper and Martin Huwe of Clear Lake; siblings, Michael (Liz) of Clear Lake, Sandra Larson of South Haven, Patrick of Clear Lake, and Mary Jane (Richard) Roering of Clear Lake; and sister in law, Carol Marie of St. Cloud.
