Eugene “Gene” Adrian Loch of Becker, Minnesota, passed away on October 23, 2025, at 4:40 a.m. at The Good Shepherd Community in Sauk Rapids, MN. He was born on January 20, 1943, to the late Helen and Joseph Loch. He spent the last three years of his life residing at Good Shepherd Community. A heartfelt thank you goes out to his care team, who treated him with kindness and compassion until the very end.
Gene grew up in Maple Lake, MN, and attended St. Cloud University before joining the service in 1966. On March 1, 1976, he married Stephanie (Timmerman) Loch of Richfield, MN. This March would have marked their 50th anniversary. He is survived by Stephanie and their son, Todd Timmerman; his daughter-in-law, Sheila; and grandchildren, Nikki and Tye Timmerman.
Gene’s friends will remember his humor, good nature, and passion for sports. He worked at the Pebble Creek Golf Course Pro Shop for nine years and was on the green whenever possible. He rarely missed a home high school football game and watched the Twins religiously. He was a gifted storyteller, a lifelong dog lover, and the only reason his granddaughter passed Algebra. Gene’s family remembers him for his kindness, compassion, unwavering patience, and fierce loyalty to those he cared for.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 26 at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Becker, MN. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. with Mass to follow. Rev. Michael Kellogg will officiate.
Eugene is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald and Donald Loch; and sister, Monica.
His memory will live on with his family and amongst the stars and moon, and further.
