Eileen R. Hanson, also known as mom and grandma peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the age of 78. Eileen fought a courageous battle of ovarian cancer. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends made her final days peaceful.
Eileen was born in Alexandria, MN on November 26, 1943, the daughter of Nick and Florence Klimek. On June 23, 1962, Eileen was united in marriage to Lyle D. Hanson. The couple resided in Big Lake during their 40 years of marriage. They raised five children in the family home. Eileen lived true to her name; she was a ray of light to those around her. She spent most of her life caring deeply about her family and friends and taking care of them as well.
Eileen was a grandma to twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and had a special relationship with them. She loved them all and listened to them with her whole heart. She was known for playing board games and reading stories.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, her brother Wayne and her parents. Eileen will be deeply missed by her children, Deb (Bert) Moen, Barb Ratzlaff, Donovan (Andrea) Hanson, Sue (Tom) Lagergren and Chad (Alicia) Hanson. Eileen’s legacy will be carried on in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild. The lives she formed and touched by her love.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 11 am, with visitation continuing one hour prior to the mass at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Becker. Celebrant will be Father Mike Kellogg. Interment will be at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Becker.
