Dr. John Charles Bauman

John (Doc) Bauman passed away surrounded by his family at St. Cloud Hospital. A celebration of Doc's life, followed by a memorial service was Sat., Oct. 24 at First Presbyterian Church, Foley. The Rev. Allen Jergenson will officiated.  Private family burial will be at a later date.
 
Doc was born in Antler, Saskatchewan, Canada to Burnett and Madeleine (Boittiaux) Bauman. He married the love of his life, Joan (Parr) on June 6, 1959 in St. Boniface, Manitoba. Doc graduated from Manitoba Medical School, Winnipeg, Manitoba.  His practice began in Hallock, MN and continued in Foley from 1964 until his retirement.  Even after his official retirement he continued to practice medicine for many years. John was active in the Foley Lions, earning the Melvin Jones Award.  He was also a member of the Foley School Board, Booster Club, and was a Church Deacon and Elder. Doc had a great sense of humor, loved dressing up in wacky outfits and hats, enjoyed hunting, was an avid sports fan, loved doing stained glass, gardening and any time spent with family.
 
He is survived by children, Ken (Connie), Clear Lake; Mike (Amy), Marshfield, WI; Bob (Pat) Foley; Kim (Bob) Koopmeiners, Sartell; Michelle (Gary) Johnson, Foley; Leslie (Pat) Haessly, Becker; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters Elaine Taylor, Calgary, Alberta; Joyce VanBelleghem, Kenora, Ontario; brother Ken (Rebecca) Bauman, Calgary, Alberta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joan and infant daughter.
