On May 5 at approximately 10:34 p.m., the Becker Police Dept. made a traffic stop at the location of Hwy. 10 and Liberty Lane. The reason for the stop was that the registered owner of the vehicle was observed to be driving with a revoked driver’s license status.
The driver was identified as Barbara Marie Darwin, 41 of St. Paul, MN. The passenger with Darwin was identified as a Raymond Anthony Gruer (35) also of St. Paul, MN.
During the investigation of the stop, Gruer was found to have an active felony warrant out of Dakota County for a fifth degree controlled substance violation. He was placed into custody for the warrant. In addition, during a search of the vehicle, officers discovered approximately 97.6 grams of methamphetamines, some pills, and a small amount of marijuana.
As a result of the traffic stop, both Darwin and Gruer were arrested and transported to the Sherburne County Jail pending the following charges:
Darwin: Fifth Degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving after revocation, possession of a legend drug.
Gruer: Arrested on the Dakota County warrant for fifth degree controlled substance violation.
One other passenger was cited for possession of a hypodermic needle and released at the scene.
