Snyder inspires hundreds in speech at BHS

Amberley Snyder inspired and uplifted hundreds Oct. 1 at Becker High School as she spoke about her life’s work of faith and determination despite her paralyzation.

Snyder spoke to Becker students during the day in front of a good crowd at Dwight Lundeen Stadium. Later, she spoke for more guests in the school’s PAC (Performing Arts Center).

Snyder spent time describing her life story which continues to encourage and influence people of all ages. Later, Snyder stuck around and allowed to be photographed and signed autographs as well.

Snyder was involved in a serious car accident 15 years ago that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Prior to the accident she was a world renown barrel racer and rodeo star and has a passion for horses.

Despite the accident, Snyder returned to her horse and the sport of rodeo just four months later, defying the odds. Her incredible journey was chronicled in the 2019 Netflix film Walk. Ride. Rodeo., which gained widespread viewership.

One inspired youngster, Elena Davis of Becker, was thrilled when she was able to meet Snyder and have her autograph her horse-riding helmet and sweatshirt during the event.

Snyder’s key message to all is to embrace challenges, never give up and always choose to be a good human.
