Snake River Free Church Celebrates Midsummer

Snake River Free Mission Church hosted their annual Midsummer auction, potluck and bake sale Sunday, July 11th. Many lifelong residents were in attendance for the event. Becker township resident Robert Hamner (age 100), attended Snake River Church Midsummer for the first time 96 years ago as a small child in the year 1927. Hamner also attended Vacation Bible School in the 1930’s at Snake River Church and remembers that kids from all around the Becker area (over 30 students) would often attend when he was growing up and the kids were excited as they crowded into the one-room church. Hamner said his cousins and kids from nearby Kragero one-room school, as well as nearby District 20 school would also often attend Snake River Midsummer each summer.
