For years, Lee Peterson Tree Farm has proudly displayed some of their beautifully colored trees—light and dark blue, black, white mist, red, and more—near Co. Rd. 23 for passersby to enjoy. Unfortunately, for the past few years, their beloved red trees have been stolen due to their easy roadside access.
To prevent further thefts, the owners made the difficult decision to secure all their festive-colored trees behind the farm gates.
“While it saddens us not to bring the same holiday cheer to Co. Rd. 23, we hope this removes temptation for those who might take unlawfully,” said Co-Owner Rose Peterson. “As a reminder, God teaches us that stealing is a sin. At the Lee Peterson Tree Farm, we forgive those who have taken from us in the past, but repentance is still necessary—and we pray for hearts to be turned back to what truly matters.”
For those who have been asking about Lee’s colored trees—yes, they still have them. They even have two-toned purple for Vikings fans.
“Of course, we offer our traditional green trees, including an abundance of large trees perfect for businesses or homes with cathedral ceilings,” said Rose.
“May God bless you this Christmas season,” she exclaimed. “We also should pray for blessings upon those who have wronged us, that their hearts may be turned toward the true meaning of Christmas—the birth of a very special baby, Jesus.”
Rose pointed out that the truth is, we all fall short, whether intentionally or not.
“None of us deserve God’s forgiveness and grace, yet it is freely offered to all who seek it with a repentant heart,” she continued. “This season, let us remember to forgive others as we ourselves have been forgiven. For those who have stumbled, we encourage you to turn back, repent, and embrace the gift of grace that Christmas so beautifully reminds us of.”
