Dr. Neeharika Bhashyam and her team at Park Dental Big Lake are looking out for the health of their patients starting with their teeth.
Formerly known as Sand Prairie Dental with Dr. Roger Bromaghim, the office is located at 16991 198th Ave. in Big Lake. Dr. Bromaghim joined with Park Dental and invited Dr. Bhashyam to the team shortly before his retirement.
Dr. Bhashyam has been running the show since 2019.
“I enjoy getting to know my patients and making them feel comfortable and respected,” she states on the Park Dental website. “I am passionate about educating patients on how to maintain their oral health as I strongly believe that prevention is the best medicine.”
The health of patients’ teeth is very important to their overall health, as well. Practice manager Shannon Collier says patients with poor dental health (those with tooth decay and diseased gum tissue) could see side effects of infection which impact heart health and the ability to eat certain foods.
Apart from seeing the dentist regularly, Collier says there are some other tips that patients can follow to keep their teeth and gums healthy. Brushing twice a day is, of course, the number one best practice. Collier also encourages patients to floss daily before bed. Eating plenty of fresh fruits and veggies is always a good idea, as is staying away from chewy candies, such as gummies and fruit snacks. Kids who have too many chewy candies like these may experience negative impacts on their dental health.
Speaking of kids, Park Dental has a great kids program. Mascot Parker the dog encourages kids to brush their teeth. Kids on their best behavior for the dentist are also eligible to win prizes as a reward.
From routine checkups to root canals, Dr. Bhashyam and the Park Dental team have their clients’ needs covered!
