Tuesday night, Mayor Mark Kolbinger was immensely proud to host the first Mayor’s Local Government Roundtable, which brought together over 20 local elected officials and key employee leaders from Sherburne County, Becker Public Schools, Becker Township and the City of Becker. The goal of the meeting was to facilitate discussion and enhance cooperation between the entities in order to deliver the most effective and efficient outcomes for our residents and shared taxpayers.
The group celebrated some of the successes achieved in the past as a result of their collaborations, and identified areas where they think they can work more closely together. It was a candid, frank discussion and yielded a solid foundation for increased communication and efficacy in the community.
“We spent a considerable amount of time in working groups focused on transportation concerns, parks/recreation, and facilities/maintenance,” said Kolbinger. “Each group discussed goals and proposed a general timeline for gathering additional information where needed.”
The group committed to meeting quarterly for the time-being in order to keep the momentum moving forward, and the next meeting was set for October 23 at Becker High School.
“A sincere thank you to all who attended and added yet another meeting to their already busy schedules,” said Kolbinger. “I am genuinely optimistic about what we accomplished and look forward to the increased level of collaboration and communication. Working together, we will undoubtedly deliver better outcomes for the residents of the Becker community.”
