Twelve-year-old entrepreneur Kaia Asheim, age 12, started a dog and cat bowtie operation called Little T’s BOWtique.

Kaia’s grandparents are Jim and Diane Bergstrom, who own Bergstrom Lawn Equipment north of Becker. Kaia’s mom (Bridget) was born and raised in Becker and her family is visiting from Keller, Texas.

Kaia recently told her mom, Bridget, that she was bored and wanted to earn some money. Kaia is an avid fan of the show Shark Tank, which features people trying to promote their businesses to potential investors. Kaia chatted with a friend while rock climbing and came up with an idea of making bows for dogs and cats as a business venture.

Kaia googled a YouTube video that taught her how to self-make the bows.

“Anyone can start their own business at any age,” said Kaia. “You just have to start with the idea and have motivation.”

Kaia decided to name her business, Little T’s BOWtique after their family dog named Trixie, who was adopted by her family three years ago from the animal shelter.

Kaia has been earning money by selling her dog and cat bows and noted the bows were handmade in Texas.
