The Minnesota Department of Driver and Vehicle Services is warning of scam emails and texts requesting payments. 

People are getting emails and texts claiming to be from “Minnesota Department of Motor Vehicles (DPSMN),” “Minnesota (DVS)” or “Minnesota Department of Vehicle Administration (DMV)” about outstanding penalties and traffic tickets. The real Minnesota DVS never sends texts or emails asking for money or saying money is due.

If one receives such an email or text, do not respond or click any links. If one thinks the message is real, contact DVS at www.drive.mn.gov. If possible, report the message as scam and delete it.
