Holidays Busy For Becker Lion’s Club

The Becker Lion’s Club have had a variety of activities on their schedule as the Holidays grow closer, including a special wine and craft beer tasting session at Hunter’s Ridge in Becker last Friday night, which featured a number of vintages and brews, plus live music, hors d’oeuvres and a champagne fountain, plus door prizes for attendees.

Saturday morning, Lion’s manned the kitchens at the Becker Community Center for the annual “Breakfast with Santa”, which drew a large group of kids and parents.  The club members did the cooking and plating again this year, with Becker Mayor Jerome “Lefty” Kleis pouring orange juice and greeting attendees in the line.

Tuesday night, club members and some spouses of deceased members boarded a bus at St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Becker for the annual Christmas dinner for residents of the Lange Home, which again took place at Jack & Jim’s in Duelm.

The Becker Lions are active in and support a wide variety of programs in the community and the schools, and are currently engaged in fund raising for a special item for the city.  Club member Bruno Gad said a major goal of the current fund raising efforts is purchasing a new large U.S. flag for the Becker City Hall.
