The Gilyards made it official. Bill’s Superette and its conglomerate are landing in Becker.
The Gilyards, Virgil, Joel, John, Julie and Kristi, had been in negotiations for months with the Rademacher Company — who also operates under the name, Bill’s Superette, located in Andover, MN.
“We are passing the torch,” was what Kristi Gilyard (Kelly) posted on the Becker, MN Community Forum page on Facebook.
Becker’s grocery store, Becker Food Pride, will be converted to Bill’s Family Foods and Jubilee Liquors will switch over to G-Will Liquors.
The Deli Plus Shell Station will no longer be Shell. The store will convert to a Bill’s Superette and rumor has it the site will have new gas pumps and eventually a car wash system.
“It has been a pleasure to be a part of the Becker community,” Kristi’s post said. “We appreciate every customer choosing to shop with us over the past 62 years. Our wonderful employees we will also miss, and you will most likely see them continue on with the Rademacher Company.”
Kristi had nothing but praise for the new owners who closed the deal with the Gilyards Wednesday.
“Exciting changes are coming down the pike. The Rademachers are local, progressive, and will be a great asset to our Becker community.”
The Rademacher organization has been operating for approximately 50 years. Rademacher Companies is estimated to generate $19.2 million in annual revenues, employs approximately 130 people at the headquarters location in Andover and 180 total employees at all locations. Currently, with the procurement of the Gilyard properties, there are now nine Bill’s Superette locations around the State of Minnesota (Becker, Nowthen, Ramsey, Lino Lakes, Oak Grove, Andover, Brooklyn Park, Champlin and Royalton).
