The Duelm Lions held a Senior Appreciation Valentine’s Dinner at the St. Lawrence Parish Hall on Sunday, February 13th. About 100 invited guests attended and about 50 meals were delivered to some who could not attend in person.
The Duelm Lions Club, with 69 members, planned this event to treat the area seniors to a full lasagna dinner, topped off with dessert, chocolates and flowers for all. Little admirers from St. Lawrence religion education classes, St. John’s and Foley schools made Valentine’s cards for each guest.
The entire Duelm community welcomed the seniors. St. Lawrence Parish provided the hall without charge, Jack and Jim’s donated table linens plus some of the food and Lion President Debbie Bialke donated decorations. Other community service groups offered a hand too. The Duelm 4-H Club and St. Francis Xavier students from Buffalo helped with serving and cleanup.
Many guests complimented the Duelm Lions for delicious food and kind service.
