Clear Valley Business Connection (CVBC) held their quarterly meeting Thursday, Oct. 14th at Airborn Preserve Disc Golf Course (formerly Eagle Trace Golf Course). The meeting was hosted and sponsored by Irrigation Management (owners Chris and April Vasecka). Lunch was provided by Coborns of Clearwater.
City reports were given and sheriff and county information was reviewed. Old business was discussed, including a recap of Music in the Park events that were held the summer of 2021. Alyx Johnson, committee chair, asked for feedback from members and gave a recap of the event. Plans were discussed on how to proceed for next year’s event.
CVBC president Glenna Soenneker thanked The Patriot Newspaper for donating weekly ad space to local chambers with the intent to promote area events.
CVBC treasurer Eron Bordson held discussion about the possibility of increasing the dues for annual CVBC membership, as it has been several years since the fee was raised. The topic will be revisited at the next meeting of the CVBC. Bordson also gave a treasurer’s report.
The possibility of starting a Clearwater/Clear Lake Farmers Market in 2022 was discussed. Lori Johnson, CVBC Vice President, is doing further research for this project.
There was conversation about moving forward with a newcomer booklet to reach out to people in the community. Pastor David Fogal (Tri-County Alliance Church) is spearheading this project. Members were encouraged to continue to invite business friends to the meetings.
Chris and April Vasecka, owners of Irrigation Management, gave a presentation and shared information about their custom underground lawn sprinkler business. The company does design, installation and maintenance of residential and commercial irrigation systems.
The next meeting of the CVBC will be held at Restoration & Construction Services in Clearwater (located near Kwik Trip) Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include the annual chili cook-off.
The goal of the CVBC is to bring Clearwater, Clear Lake and surrounding area businesses, industries and organizations together to foster growth, understanding and support.
