(Editor’s Note: The following information is a surmised compilation from the county’s last three meetings.)
Staff Compensation
The board approved the 2026 compensation and county contributions for non-union employees’ wages and benefits.
Radio Donations
The board approved the donation of 20 Motorola XTS radios that are approximately 12-15 years old to the North West Health Services Coalition. The board also approved donating the remaining 40 obsolete radios to the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office with an approximate value of $750.
Project Reimbursement
The board approved a contract with MnDOT to reimburse Sherburne County for pipe work on Co. Rd. 29 in Princeton.
Auto Theft Grant
The board accepted an Auto Theft Prevention Program Grant in the amount of $53,500.
Bridge Contract
The board approved an amendment to the agreement with WSB & Associates for additional construction phase services on the Co. Rd. 15 bridge project.
Lake District Budgets
The board approved the Eagle Lake Improvement District’s (ELID) 2026 budget.
The board also approved the 2026 budget of the Three Lake Improvement District (TLID) at $32,045. Each of the 430 benefitting properties will be assessed $74.52 in 2026.
Fee Changes
The Sherburne County Board approved revisions to the county’s All Services and Fee Schedule.
7W Appointments
The board appointed of Commissioners Andrew Hulse and Raeanne Danielowski to the 7W Economic Development District Governing Committee.
Park Grant
The board approved a MN DNR Outdoor Recreation Grant Award for park improvements at Oak Savanna Park in Becker. The funding will be used to construct a picnic pavilion, install a dual vault restroom and add interpretive features to the accessible trail loop that provides a gateway from the Sherburne History Center to the trails in Oak Savanna Park.
Nuclear Energy Resolution
The board passed a resolution to show Sherburne County’s support for efforts to repeal Minnesota’s Moratorium on nuclear energy production.
SSTS Policy
The Board last week approved modifications to the county’s Subsurface Sewage Treatment System (SSTS) Low-Income Upgrade Grant Policy that will allow more people to use the program.
Tri-CAP Contract
The board approved a contract between the county and Tri-County Action Program (Tri-CAP) for transportation services during the time period of Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2028.
Clothing Closet
The board approved acceptance of ongoing clothing donations by Community Corrections County and Judicial Branch staff for clients and their families.
Check-Up Amendment
The board approved the Child and Teen Check-Up Amendment between the county and the MN Dept. of Human Services, facilitating the receipt of $178,265 for services provided during the 2026.
Safe Roads Grant
The board approved and accepted the 2025-26 Toward Zero Death (TZD) Safe Roads Grant in the amount of $11,419. The Sheriff’s Office will coordinate a Safe Roads Coalition and Fatal Review Committee working with various agencies, organizations, and individuals to educate the public regarding traffic safety awareness and various statewide traffic safety initiatives.
Three Rivers Grant
The board accepted the Three Rivers Community Foundation Grant Award in the amount of $1,000 for Sherburne County Health & Human Services. The grant will be used to assist kinship caregivers with expenses related to the foster care licensing requirements, assist with eliminating hardships/barriers to care for children, and assist with costs related to maintaining family connections.
Other Business
In other action the board:
• Approved one Public Safety Telecommunicator position in the Sheriff’s Office to ensure adequate staffing levels in its 911 Dispatch Center;
• Proclaimed October, 2025 as Manufacturing Month in Sherburne County.
• Approved the Residential Preliminary Standard Plat of “Adys Acres,” consisting of five lots on 112.89 acres on 277th Ave. in Livonia Twp.;
• Approved the Final Standard Residential Plat of “Wind Dancer Estates,” consisting of 14 lots on 32.62 acres on 238th Ave. NW in Livonia Twp.;
• Approved the reappointment of James Kirchenbauer to the Sherburne County Extension Committee as a Dist. 4 representative for a three-year term beginning January 2026 through December 2028;
• Approved the final contract payment of $23,256.14. to Knife River for the 2024 Co. Rd. 28 reconstruction project. The final contract amount was $1,197,517.79;
• Approved the final contract payment of $26,956.32. to Knife River for the 2024 Co. Rd. 73 reconstruction project. The final contract amount was $2,695,632.43;
• Approved a three-year contract with Options Inc. for Adult Day/Prevocational Services, Employment Support Services and Transportation Services. HHS has a budget available of $50,000 per year for these services for individuals with developmental disabilities who are not eligible for waiver programs;
• Approved a contract with A New Direction to provide Semi-Independent Living Skills (SILS) services to adults with developmental disabilities. SILS is 85% state-funded and 15% county levy funded. Approximately $30,000 per year is included in the county’s preliminary 2026 and projected 2027 and 2028 annual budgets;
• Approved a proclamation denouncing political violence in America based upon the earlier statement by the county board on recent national and state political assassinations.
