Clearview Kindergarteners Celebrate Pumpkin Day

The kindergarten rooms at Clearview Elementary hummed with excitement last Friday afternoon, as students and their parents and other invited adult family members took part in the annual kindergarten “Pumpkin Day” celebration.

Each of the kindergarten classrooms had numerous themed learning stations for the students and their guests to choose from. Activities such as pumpkin necklaces, pumpkin bingo, monster teeth and monster dots reinforced pattern and math skills, while others, such as ghost ring toss, used more physical skills.

Among all the activities, decorating their own pumpkin was a favorite, with students using stickers and other craft supplies for their creations.

“The involvement with the adults and kids is great to see,” said kindergarten teacher Gary Gohmann. “Events like this get the adults from home having fun and involved with their child’s learning.”
