The gymnasium at Clearview Elementary was stuffed full of holiday cheer last Thursday afternoon as students, staff and parents gathered together for the school’s annual Winter Sing program.
Accompanied by music teacher Karen Ingeman on the piano, the sing-along featured a mix of holiday and winter themed music that included A Marshmallow World, Jingle Bells, Feliz Navidad, Winter Wonderland and Frosty the Snowman.
Students accompanied some of the music with bells and other musical accents throughout the program, and a few student solos were featured. Cody the Clearview Cougar and a human Christmas tree helped conduct the songs from the front of the room.
Along with traditional favorites were songs just for fun. Decked out in reindeer antlers, staff members sang a parody of Winter Wonderland for the students entitled Christmas in an Elementary School, and students really enjoyed belting out the song, Rusty Chevrolet.
The program concluded with the beautiful song, Peace Will Come.
