The Becker Bulldog boys basketball team held a virtual meeting recently where they talked of their 2019-20 season and handed out awards.
Coach Josh Ihrke led his team to a 10-16 record. The Bulldogs lost their opening round playoff game to Rocori by a score of 70-64 March 3.
They beat Dassel-Cokato, Zimmerman, Foley, St. Francis (twice), Chisago Lakes, Big Lake, Holy Family Catholic and North Branch. They lost to Delano, Waconia, Annandale, Hutchinson, Monticello (twice), Princeton (twice), St. Cloud Tech, Big Lake, Cambridge-Isanti (twice), Rocori (twice), Chisago Lakes and Bemidji.
Nick Mittelstaedt led the team in scoring, averaging 14.7 points a game. He also led the team in assists with 4.3 APG.
Cade Callahan led the Bulldogs with 5.4 rebounds a game, one blocked shot a game and one three-point shot made per game.
Josh Fobbe led the team with 1.6 steals per game.
Spotlight on scholarship awards went to: Cole Koste, Cade Callahan, Josh Fobbe, Cam Fischer, Nick Mittelstaedt, Carter Hietala, Gabe Lindbom, Nick Knute, Zach Stanz, Hayden Harmoning, Will Mackedanz, Tristan Pickwall, Carter Callahan, Eric Seavert, Carter Leither, Brady Paumen, Harrison Kent, Ryan Bengtson, Julias Hendricks, Kevin Vogl, Kyle Vogl and Alex Weiss.
Gabe Lindbom was named Scholar Athlete.
Varsity letter awards went to: Jeremy Laugen, Cole Koste, Cade Callahan, Josh Fobbe, Cam Fischer, Nick Mittelstaedt, Carter Hietala, Gabe Lindbom, Nick Knute, Carter Callahan, Eric Seavert, Brady Paumen, Brooke VenBerg and McKenna Tierney.
All conference went to Cade Callahan and Nick Mittelstaedt and the Bulldogs finished with a team GPA of 3.43.
Zach Stanz was named best teammate. Brady Paumen was voted most dedicated. Offense MVP honors went to Eric Seavert and Brady Paumen.
Eric Seavert was named most improved. Josh Fobbe received defensive MVP honors. Team MVP went to Nick Mittelstaedt.
Brooke Venberg was congratulated as being team manager.
