Becker DECA featuring Boo Fest

For bites, booths, and bouncy houses come to the Becker Furniture World parking lot today, October 21, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for Boo-Fest!

Marvel Nutrition and the Break-away Cafe have paired up with the high school DECA club for this spooky and FREE fun family event. This event marks the kick off of many more DECA student-led events, so stay tuned to see what the Becker High School DECA Chapter has in store.

DECA members have been hard at work in all aspects of bringing their vision for Boo-Fest to life. Students have found themselves learning about and working on planning, outreach, staffing, and  advertising.

What is DECA?

Distributive Education Clubs of America. New this year in Becker, with nearly 40 members, the group creates future leaders in management, finance, marketing, and hospitality in high school and college. Student-led community projects, taking business ideas to competition, and running Chewy’s School Store are a few of the ways they do DECA.

Throughout the planning of Boo-Fest, these students have demonstrated strong talents for leadership, team work, and dedication to success. It is certain that the future of DECA is bright and its students will continue to strive for greatness.

In order to achieve this, the Becker High School DECA Chapter is seeking sponsorships. If one is interested in helping these young entrepreneurs, contact Becker’s DECA advisors Kris Simon ksimon@isd726.org or Josh Otto at jotto@isd726.org

Becker’s DECA students are in the process of expanding their chapter and chasing their goals by attending the upcoming Back to Business competitive event. Fourteen students will be traveling to the Twin Cities to attend Back to Business. Five students will attend the Becker Chamber of Commerce meeting to learn about Becker’s local businesses and grow their local connections. Lastly, students are working on creating an outdoor concession stand for all of the non-football events on campus. Students are excited for opportunities to do real work and be a part of their community.

Consideration in supporting the local Becker High School DECA Chapter can be done by attending Boo-Fest, purchasing Bulldog merch through Chewy’s School Store, or becoming a Becker DECA sponsor.
