This Fall, Great River Faith in Action coordinated 31 groups to rake 46 yards in the local area during their Annual Rake the Town Event.
Hundreds of local individuals, families, and group volunteers took part in raking and serving their communities giving hundreds of hours of service. In fact, GRFIA still has a couple more groups going out to serve in the next week or so as long as the weather cooperates. GRFIA has continued to serve their community for over 20 years and strives to meet the needs of elderly and disabled folks, so they can live safely in their homes.
This annual event strengthens local communities in different ways. It helps provide individuals and families a way to give back to their community and serve a neighbor who needs some help. It also blesses the homeowner because they are shown that their community cares about them and they matter. It only takes a couple hours, but the impact is huge.
Great River Faith in Action strives to serve elderly, disabled and struggling families in Sherburne County and parts of Wright and Mille Lacs Counties. They rely on volunteers to help meet the needs in the community. Is help with snow removal, light cleaning, driving someone to a doctor appointment, visit, respite or minor home repair something one needs? Give them a call at 763-263-4277. GRFIA is community supported and so grateful to those who donate so they can continue to provide services and furniture items at no cost to those they serve.
