Anderson Selected to Serve on Minnesota Youth Council

Minnesota Alliance With Youth is pleased to announce that Rebecca Anderson of Big Lake has been selected to serve on the Minnesota Youth Council.

The Minnesota Youth Council (MYC) serves as liaison between young people, youth-led and youth-serving organizations, and state policymakers and the Governor and Lt. Governor. They are the statutorily-created “voice of youth” in Minnesota and expand opportunities for ALL young people in Minnesota to have their voices heard and input considered.

Anderson, of Big Lake, is a student at Spectrum High School where, alongside gaining her diploma, she participates in concurrent enrollment classes to also graduate with an Associates of Arts Degree. Through her school, she participates in Student Council, tennis, National Honors Society, and is captain of the speech team. Discussion, one of her speech categories, introduced her to public policy and legislation. Through the Minnesota Youth Council, she hopes to learn more about government processes, and continue to empower and advocate for youth.

Rebecca’s core values include leadership, community service and involvement, and making a difference. She brings her values into everything she does, along with a positive, fun attitude.

Anderson will be joining the Minnesota Youth Council alongside currently serving Big Lake High School student Alexis Gosewisch.
