Filings for local offices closed Tuesday, and eight individuals have filed for office in the City of Clearwater.

 

Former Clearwater City Councilman Vern Scott has filed to run against incumbent Mayor Pete Edmonson for a two-year term.

 

Incumbent Councilmen Chris Ritzer and Mike Ranum have filed to retain their council seats. They will be challenged by former Clearwater City Attorney Richard Petty, Jess Clothier, Jacob Vickroy and Andrea Lawrence Wheeler. The term is four years.

 

Election Day is Nov. 8.
