5 injured in Palmer Twp. accident

Five people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Palmer Twp.

A 2013 Chrysler Town and Country van, driven by 31-year-old Tyler Steven Janson of Foley, was raveling southbound on Hwy. 25 when the van collided with a 2007 Hyundai Elantra driven by an unnamed 16-year-old female from Clear Lake at the intersection of Hwy. 25 and Co. Rd. 3. The accident occurred at around 1:41 p.m.

The Hyundai also had three riders who were all injured and they include two other females (ages 14 and 10) and one male aged 16 — all from Clear Lake. The three passengers in the Hyundai were transported to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening  injuries. All occupants of the Hyundai were reported to be wearing seatbelts.

Janson was also injured and transported to St. Cloud Hospital. He too was wearing a seatbelt and his injuries are considered non-life threatening.

Assisting at the scene were the Clear Lake Fire Dept., Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Ambulance.
