2 die in crash in Clearwater

Two people on a motorcycle were killed in a crash involving a pickup truck Friday afternoon near Clearwater Township in Wright County.

According to Minnesota State Patrol, a 50-year-old man (Chad David Eskelson of Clear Lake) and 46-year-old woman (Vicki Jo Nieman of Clear Lake) were on a motorcycle traveling southbound on Hwy. 24 just after 12:45 p.m. when it collided with a pickup truck near 179th Street Northwest. Authorities say the truck, driven by 28-year-old Adam Zane Brambrink of South Haven, was turning left to travel north on Hwy. 24 when the crash occurred.

Brambrink was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup and had a passenger, 27-year-old Adam Douglas Searcy of South Haven, but neither Brambrink nor Searcy were injured in the accident.

Eskelson was driving a 2012 Harley Davidson Motorcycle and neither he nor Nieman were wearing helmets in the crash.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Agencies assisting at the scene were Wright County Sheriff and Clearwater Fire and Ambulance.
