EXTENDING DURATION OF ORDINANCE 2023-06

AN INTERIM ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A STUDY AND IMPOSING A MORATORIUM

 ON THE OPERATION OF CANNABIS BUSINESSES

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clearwater adopted Ordinance 2023-06, Authorizing a Study and Imposing a Moratorium on the Operation of Cannabis Businesses on July 10, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance 2023-06, ARTICLE VIII, Duration, presently reads as follows:

This Ordinance shall become effective on the first day of publication after adoption and shall remain in effect until January 1, 2024. This Ordinance may be repealed earlier upon the effective date of an ordinance adopting or amending reasonable restrictions on the time, place and manner of the operation of a Cannabis Business within the City or by resolution of the City Council terminating this Ordinance prior to the expiration date.  Summary publication is hereby authorized by the City Council; 

and

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to extend the duration of Ordinance 2023-06 until January 1, 2025.

THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Clearwater, Minnesota, hereby ordains as follows:

The first sentence of Ordinance 2023-06, Article VIII, Duration is repealed and replaced with the following: 

This Ordinance shall become effective on the first day of publication after adoption and shall remain in effect until January 1, 2025.

All other sections of Ordinance 2023-06 remain intact.
