To The Editor

As a 2004 Becker High School graduate, I am proud to say that golf at Pebble Creek was my sport, and fortunately was my back yard since 1995.

When I run into people, that know of Becker, one of the first things that is ever brought up is Pebble Creek Golf Club. It's a name that is synonymous with the city, just like Coach Lundeen and his success with the school’s football teams.

The point of my letter is to add onto Mr. Morgan's amazingly written article last week. Mr. Morgan pointed out some outstanding stats about Pebble Creek and what they have been apart of since its inception. But, one thing, in particular, that was not mentioned by Mr. Morgan, was the jobs that the golf course creates for the city, which still gives kids an opportunity to be responsible, learn the value of hard work, and give back to their local community.

Personally, my love and enjoyment for the game of golf was strengthened because of the golf professionals who have been at Pebble Creek during my youth: Shortridge, Cutter, Holmes, Johnson, and Lupinek.

With that expertise, I also became a Golf Club Professional after college, not only paying omage to these greats, but to pay it forward, just as they did for me.

From someone who has been in the business for much less time, Troy is of the highest quality. The city, and Pebble Creek, are lucky to have him. Anything less, the operation takes a downward spiral.

For those of you who may not want to pay your $4-$9 a year towards the golf course, or have any other qualms with it, please remember that it's more than just money.

Finally, to Becker City Council, just make sure the decisions you make today is leaving the City of Becker and Pebble Creek in a better place than when you found it.
